Explanation writing

Sunsmart programs in schools.

Why is it important for schools in NZ?, well because Skin cancer is one of the most common cancer in NZ, and staff and community of schools are trying to lower the number of people getting skin cancer every year.

Is it really compulsory to wear hats? I wouldn’t say yes but I wouldn’t say no, Wearing hats is really up to your staff/principal or how SunSmart your school is. Wearing hats can help you protect your ears, neck, and face, Talking about hats let’s talk about shade structures or shade around your school, if you are a SunSmart school you should have at least heaps of shade to protect yourself from the sun if you have no sunscreen or a hat. The most common shade to find in schools are trees.

Getting protected by sunscreen is definitely a must because sunscreen comes in different ranges of SPF. the SPF is special cause the hotter the sun the higher the SPF you need. Sunscreen also comes in different varieties such as – Roll on, Spray, Cream, etc. Skin cancer is really effective, especially if not treated as soon as possible, How to know if your getting skin cancer around your face/head – a sizable patch that is brownish with darker speckles. a mole that bleeds, and changes color, size, or texture. a little lesion that has an erratic border with spots that are red, pink, white, blue, or blue-black.

The sooner the better, Teaching little ones or students about sun smart is the way to go, Students can reflect on how to be SunSmart, The guidelines – Slip, Slop, Slap, Wrap
Slide into the cover. Look for a nice shaded tree or a sail of shade to hide under. One of the finest and simplest ways to shield oneself from UV rays is using shade.
Put on coverings that protect your skin. The perfect shirt has long sleeves. Put some sunblock on. It is advised to use water-resistant, broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30. Don’t forget to apply 20 minutes prior to going outside and to reapply every two hours, after swimming, or after perspiring. Put on a cap. Hats with wide brims shield the face, neck, and ears. Put your sunglasses on. our eyes can be shielded from UV rays with sunglasses.

KEEP REVIEWING THE PROGRAM VERY OFTEN – You should keep reviewing the program every 3 years at least because you never know what might’ve happened to the guidelines maybe it changed maybe there were some new rules added to it.

Reading response activity

I have dreams
by Antonia Lee, Sara Fung, Christy Fung, Rachel Lam
I have no dreams in my life
And I do not concede that
I have talents
I am not a person who contributes
And I refuse to believe that
I will be useful
I tell you this:
In the future
I will not be famous
No longer can it be said that
my friends and parents will support me
It will be evident that
I am apathetic
It is foolish to presume that
I have dreams
Life is like a battlefield
Without dreams
Being a lawyer, will not be my aim
Being an accountant, will not be my goal
Being a doctor, will not be my dream
I would never say that
There is hope in my life

Te Oro Trip

Today At Glenbrae School, Room 7 was invited to Te Oro to make poi’s. We started walking to Te Oro at a Responsible and slow pace it was really tiring at first but we pulled through and we finally got to Te Oro. Matua was outside Waiting for us to greet us, When he welcomed us in he told us to walk in and go staright to the corridor to sit and wait.

We walked to the corridor and sat there and waited for about 20-25 mins and then whaea binny Came out and greeted us in moari and told us to find a seat, My friends and I Sat together on the table. On the table it had 6 scissors 6 square foam and 3 black, white, red wool/yarn sitting right infront of us. Matua Josh came in and Explained to us About health and saftey.

Then Whaea Binny started to explain on how to make the poi, So first you had to cut the Square foam and try and shape it into a sphere/circle and then once your done with that you had to cut the the yarn/wool your forearm lenth 3 times. Then you had to make the pom pom so you had to wrap the color of your choice around 30 times of the square foam, Then you ahd to get a buddy to hold the pompom bit so you could plait the string. Once you were done with that you had to cut your circle in the middle and place your string that you plaited. After that you had to put the plastic bag around.

Once we we were done with the poi we all sat down and Head boy and girl talked on behalf of us and thanked them, After they had their little speech/we were getting ready to go and walked back to school.

It was really Tiring but fun and I Liked it Alot

Disinformation

Disinformation means where you spread fake news on the ineternet purposely and you knew that it was fake but you wanted to ruin their reputation or just want the money. Like as you can see one of billies fans spreaded fake news about her saying that billie wanted to be poor so that she could ” to her fans”, The fakers did it to get support for their team and to damage Billie Eilish reputation
